Koperasi Produsen Gayo Highland was established in October of 2016, located in Central Aceh, Sumatra, the cooperative was established to support the smallholder farmers in the area. The cooperative consists of 707 farmer members from 11 villages with a total land area of 1,033 hectares. Each producer that contributes to this coffee typically owns between 1 to 10 hectares of land. These farmers are represented by 14 delegates nominated by the farmers.

Producers harvest their cherries by hand and generally de-pulp them by hand at their homes. This lot is prepared using the Giling-Basah (or Wet-Hulled) process, a unique method developed to cope with Indonesia's intensely humid climate. This processing method is responsible for the unique Sumatran flavor profile and their typical green-blue bean color. The coffee is then brought to a collection station before it is moved to a warehouse for final processing and sale.
